Auto Shipper

The auto shipper industry is a many-faceted one, but ultimately one that is simple to understand in the long run. The auto shipper industry runs on the backs of giant auto shipper carriers that traverse the country, hauling cars from one location to the next, continually on the road. These auto shipper companies are the bottom-line for the auto shipper industry - if auto shipper carriers aren’t on the road, cars don’t get moved.

But auto shipper carriers aren’t the only auto shipper companies in the industry, not by far. Auto shipper carriers must rely on auto shipper brokerages to find them freight to haul. Auto shipper brokerages are the companies that deal with the auto shipper customers - the people that are paying for auto shipping. Auto shipper brokerages typically work out of small offices, dealing with customers all day long while the auto shipper carriers are busy hauling cars around the country. They work together through an online load board, where auto shipper brokerages can post their customer’s freight with all the pertinent information, and auto shipper carriers can look at the load board and pickup the freight that is easy for them to get depending on their current location. Auto shipper brokerages can also call auto shipper carriers that have hauled on certain routes for them before and see if they have trucks in the area that would be able to pickup the vehicle.

The relationship between the auto shipper brokerages and the auto shipper carriers is a relatively peaceful one. Auto shipper carriers will almost always want cash upon delivery, as opposed to taking a billing from an auto shipper brokerage. Auto shipper brokerages offer two different types of payment: a deposit up front and then the rest to the auto shipper carrier upon delivery, or pay the entire balance to he auto shipping brokerage up front, and let them handle the rest of the money.

This is an important concept to understand, given the fact that most auto transport carriers prefer cash upon delivery. Many auto shipper carriers won’t even accept billings from auto transport brokerages, so it can be difficult for auto shipper brokerages to get freight moved if there are no trucks willing to pick it up.

However, auto shipper brokerages are always looking for more customers, but many auto shipper brokerages are small companies with only a handful of employees, so they need to essentially buy leads from auto shipper advertising websites, dishing out a monthly fee to the auto shipper website who will then send customer’s information to them for the auto shipper brokerages to call and book their auto transport with them.

The relationship between each company is symbiotic and reciprocal - it is a near-perfect balance in the auto shipper industry, which is great for you, the customer. By using each type of auto shipper service, you are getting the most for your money and the least amount of time researching and trying to find the right auto shipper carrier for you.
