Auto Shippers

When it comes to auto shipping, auto shippers know everything there is to know about it. Auto shippers are masters of the industry, and they definitely need to be - it’s just like if you went to a shoe store and they didn’t know what types of shoes they sold or what running shoes were compared to wrestling shoes. Customers expect their auto shippers to know anything and everything about their auto shipping, and rightly so. However, customers oftentimes are not aware of what the auto shippers know, and then proceed to try and explain how the industry works to the auto shippers. This can be a major problem, so read ahead to learn how to avoid costly mistakes and miscommunications, just by being a bit informed.

Auto shippers know that pickup and delivery dates are never guaranteed. If any auto shippers guarantee you either a pickup date or delivery date, DO NOT ship with them. All legitimate auto shippers will tell you that they can give you a pickup or delivery window, but because of the nature of the industry nothing is 100% guaranteed when it comes to pickup or delivery. Many customers either do not listen or do not understand the concept of a pickup window, and therefore demand dates and get upset when those dates are not met. This can cause problems between customers and auto shippers, and sometimes can be bad enough to completely cancel the order.

Some customers will rely on misinformation to the point where their entire plans are ruined because they did not realize that it would take up to ten days to get their vehicle picked up. They just assumed that it would be picked up next day, and this is rarely the case - auto shippers will never tell you they can guarantee you next-day pickup. So be prepared to wait, is what we’re saying, because it’s definitely worth it as opposed to simply assuming that your auto shippers would arrive on a guaranteed date.

Auto shippers have to have exact information when it comes to booking an order - they cannot see you, they aren’t down the street from you, so they have to trust you and rely on you to give them the most accurate information possible. If you tell auto shippers you are shipping out of Los Angeles, but really your car is in Silver Lake, there are going to be problems because while you may not see that as a long distance, auto shippers understand that it isn’t necessarily the distance that determines price, but the location. Some cities, especially sub-cities and border cities to major metropolitan areas, can be difficult to get into and out of for a giant auto transport truck, so it’s important to be specific in your pickup and delivery locations up front, to avoid costly problems and possibly a cancellation later.

And please, let your auto shippers know if your vehicle has been altered or is incredibly large. If you tell your auto shippers you’re shipping a regular pickup, but fail to mention that it’s been lifted six inches and has fifty inch tires on it, there’s going to be major problems. Auto shippers factor the size of the vehicle into your quote - if you misrepresent the size of your vehicle, you could end up paying hundreds of dollars more than you originally thought, or worse, your order could be completely cancelled. So please, be honest in your information, and leave the auto shipping to your auto shippers. You’ll save everyone a lot of time and effort, and you ultimately won’t be disappointed.
